My story with Be Strong started a little differently than some of the others that join a new gym. I came to Be Strong back in April after losing 80 pounds or so on my own through lots of running and minimal weight lifting. I love running and cardio workouts, but over time the cardio was causing a lot of wear and tear on my body. In addition, the cardio I was doing was not giving me the body I really wanted. I wanted to be stronger and more tone after losing such a large amount of weight.
I came across Be Strong on Facebook because of their “Woman of Steel” event. This is an event all about strong successful athletic woman in our community. At the event you are shown and even get to try powerlifting lifts under the supervision of the amazing Be Strong coaches. You also get to pull a truck on your own! How many people can say they have ever pulled a huge truck?! Not many! It was an eye opening and inspiring event that got me hooked on lifting.
I have only been a member at Be Strong since the beginning of April 2018 and the transformation I have seen in my body and strength is incredible. I have performed lifts I never thought to do at weight amounts I didn’t think I would ever be capable of!
A huge goal of mine when I started was to be able to do an unassisted pull-up by July and I did my first unassisted pull-up by the middle of June instead. I have seen such incredible success in less than five months that I cannot imagine what I could do working with them for a year plus some!
My time with Be Strong will be ending soon because of job changes and the need to relocate. I’ve been researching and visiting gyms at my future home that are similar to Be Strong, but honestly none even come close to the quality and character that Be Strong has. This gym is fantastic and everyone should give it a try because I’m sure they will fall in love with it as much as I have!
