Fitness has always been a part of my life. I was a three sport athlete growing up, so workouts were always planned by the coach.
I never had to create my own workout plan so when I went to college without continuing a sport, going to the gym did not stay as one of my priorities. I gained weight and lost muscle. I kept telling myself it was okay because I had school to focus on. Even though I was busy with school I could have spent my free time working out and staying active. During my senior year, after observing Be Strong for one of my classes, Drew approached me about trying a week of class with them.
Getting started was tough because of the shape I had gotten into over college. After about a month, I could see the results I wanted from the training. Timed runs became faster, my body told me I could last longer during bouts of exercise, and I started losing weight and inches off my measurements. Above all though, I felt better. I had more energy and confidence in my own skin. With the encouragement of the coaches and fellow members, I could see how Be Strong would be there for me during the journey I was about to take towards getting in shape. Unlike some gyms I’ve been to, the staff care about your progress and keep you accountable in keeping up with the program. This step in my life could not have come at a better time. I’ve already learned so much about what my body is able to accomplish from training, and I can’t wait to see what else I can accomplish through this journey.
