Lauren was inspired by her sister's results. Click on the button below to see Emily's story.
Like many former high school athletes, I found it difficult to maintain a healthy workout schedule once I transitioned to college. Using studying and other social/ extracurricular events as an excuse not to workout, I gradually began gaining weight. I would work out sporadically, but was never able to develop a routine. As a graduate student, I found myself more out of shape than I had ever been.
My sister, Emily, had been a member at Be Strong for about a year and had achieved results many of our friends and family had noticed. She was healthier, leaner and stronger. I was truly happy for her, but as the big sister, I had mixed feelings about my baby sister being stronger and faster than me. When I came home from school, my curiosity got the best of me and I went with her to one of the “family and friends” workouts. It was intense. It kicked my butt, and made me work harder than I had worked in years. It didn’t take much convincing for me to become a member and it has been the best decision I have ever made for my health.
Be Strong provided me with the tools and motivation to make my fitness and health a priority again. After joining, I quickly began seeing changes in my strength, endurance and body. The coaches at Be Strong make working out challenging and fun at the same time. They are all knowledgeable professionals that are there every step of the way, not only to motivate, but also to educate. I am excited to finally be learning how to lift weights safely and effectively. My goal is not only to achieve a weight and level of fitness that is healthy for my body, but also to acquire the knowledge and discipline necessary to allow me to maintain my health long term. Be Strong is the first and only gym I have been a part of where I feel I can achieve this goal.
